Christen Hansel, M.S.Ed., LPC-R
Christen Hansel is a Licensed Counselor in Residence in the state of Virginia where she is working toward licensure to become an LPC.
Christen graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1996 with a bachelor’s in psychology. She had a 13-year career in ministry, and then worked as a freelance writer and editor before going back to graduate school. She earned her M.S.Ed. in mental health counseling from Old Dominion University in 2018.
Christen enjoys working with adults to build self-compassion, mindfulness, and acceptance skills that can help alleviate the suffering of anxiety, depression, trauma, and low self-esteem.
She is a compassionate listener that can help you find insight and work through the things that are holding you back. She is especially drawn to working with clients with anxiety, religious trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, and clients with a strong inner critic.
Christen has provided counseling at Chesapeake Regional Healthcare Center, Christian Psychotherapy Services, and Sparks Counseling and Wellness.
