Ashley Harrell, MA, LPC, NCC


Ashley holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The George Washington University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Ashley has also completed a three-year training program in Somatic Experiencing, a therapeutic technique utilized to support people in healing after trauma.


Ashley has over ten years of experience working directly with survivors of interpersonal violence and trauma, including sexual violence. Ashley has experience providing individual counseling, couples counseling, group counseling, and substance use disorder treatment. Ashley works with clients with a variety of presenting concerns, including relationship difficulties, family strain, trauma, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, feelings of being stuck or unable to move forward, among others. Ashley uses a person-centered framework to provide trauma-informed care, blending a variety of therapeutic strategies to best meet an individual client’s needs.

Ashley is a National Certified Counselor and a member of the American Counseling Association. Ashley is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the District of Columbia. Ashley has received training in Somatic Experiencing, Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused Brief Therapy, Psychological First Aid, Neurobiology of Trauma, Victim Advocacy, Sexual Assault Counselor and Sexual Assault Advocate Training, and more.
