
Amy Scott, M.A., LPC-R
Amy M. Scott is a Licensed Resident in the state of Virginia where she is working toward licensure to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.
Amy graduated from Austin Peay State University in 2003, where she majored in Psychology with a focus in Sleep Disorders and minored in Philosophy. In addition, she is certified in Polysomnography as a Polysomnographic Technician from The Atlanta School of Sleep Medicine. Upon moving throughout various duty stations, Amy then pursued graduate school to receive her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University in 2020.
Amy enjoys working with adults. She uses CBT, DBT, Narrative, brief Solution-focused and Person-Centered techniques with her clients. She enjoys working with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, sleep hygiene advocacy, anger management, stress management techniques, post-abortion care, post-divorce care, co-dependency, mindfulness meditation and spiritual soul work, and grief & loss work.
Amy has worked as an adult Case Manager, direct patient care in a Behavioral Health Unit, Sleep Disorders testing in hospital laboratories, interned for a private practice and Dual Diagnosis residential setting as a Primary Counselor in O’ahu, Hawaii. She is a licensed resident in Virginia, and a member of the American Counseling Association.
